What Spin Class Is Actually Like

I participated in my first spin class this past Tuesday. Long story short, I still can't feel my butt. My roommate and I figured it out, it was because of the seats. For many asking what it is like to join a spin class and be like somewhat in shape, this is what it is like.

I was late for class and I immediately regretted it as the only bike open was dead center front row.

Our instructor played some pumping music which I was all kinds of down with.

After the first song. FIRST SONG! I was covered in sweat.

Like I couldn't even see. Thank god the bikes are stationary.

About 20 minutes into the workout, I can't even lie. I wanted to throw up my ice cream sandwich I had for lunch.

Once it hit 30 minutes, I knew I only had 25 minutes left.

The actual cycling wasn't as bad as I thought. It sucked don't get me wrong but when you want to look hot, your legs have to get a little hot in the process.

Then the teacher put on Beyonce and I somehow managed not to miss a word while feeling like I was in my own personal hell. But once again, I was all about it for the sake of chocolate ice cream and mac and cheese.

Last song came around and I couldn't tell if I wanted to cry or laugh but somehow I managed to giggle as I looked down and realized my entire shirt was a different color.

After we stretched and cleaned off the bikes, I felt hot? Not just temperature but my confidence shot up like 12 points (idk if thats a lot but thats how much better I felt about myself). It was definitely a mix of me remembering I just survived my first spin class and the fact that I just worked off that ice cream sandwich.

Either way, I can't wait until next Tuesday.

P.S. If you ever get the chance to hit up a spin class, do it.

Nail Varnish of the Week

I've had this Floss Gloss color for quite some time but I was never brave enough to pull off this Firetruck Red nail color. Due to some events of me realizing I am getting old and I should enjoy my time with insane nails.
Bam! Look how bright it is! Holla holla at my nails! #Obsessed

As Floss Gloss's Instagram would want me to do, imagine how I would describe this color in emojis.

The color is called "Fastlane." It really showed its vibrant color after 3 to 4 coats of the varnish and I can't lie, it chipped a bit but it is easy to cover up with a quick dab of the brush.

This color was perfect for this week as I had to be an adult but still have a bit of fun. It also matches my MAC "Lady Danger" lipstick perfectly, as seen here on my Instagram.

Have a wonderfully polished week lovelies!

It's the Final Countdown.

Alright, so this post was meant to go up on Wednesday but I can't tell a lie, Wednesday was crazy. It was the seniors' Pitt 100 days. Meaning, I have (had) 100 days until graduation. Meaning, 100 days until I was meant to be free. 100 days to find a job. 100 days to find a place to live. 100 days to enjoy being this close to my friends. 100 days. 100.

Talk about stress. I even have a countdown next to my desk to remind myself that I only have, well writing this, 96 days. Wow.

Granted there are some really amazing things happening in my life. I work so hard to make sure there is always something I am working towards. Sitting still is not something I can just deal with. Which is probably why I decided to post twice a week on my YouTube channel and this blog twice a week. I can't handle not doing something. #Workaholic

I learned a lot about myself as well over these years. I've realized I like people but really only people that are willing to handle my crazy work schedule I put on myself. I also learned that I am kind of a neat person (not neat as in cool but neat as in my room is clean). Now looking back at this I laugh, my room at home is a hot mess but I think as I came to living in an apartment and hosting parties, I like people to think I have it all together. So, I am sorry roommates for always folding the blankets and fixing the pillows. God bless anyone who wants to be my roommate in the future.

So, yes, I have learned a load about myself in college. And it scares me to know I only have 100, well 96 days, to discover myself more. Here is to the next 100 days. Let's hope I go out on a high note and with a smile on my face (happy tears included.)

Want to see what I am up to in the next 100 days, subscribe to my YouTube channel and follow this blog.

See you next week!

Nail Varnish of the Week

For my birthday, I received so many nail varnishes! Like loads, I can't wait to try them all out. Anyway, one of my good friends, Amanda, gave me a matching set of nail colors that she thought would look good together. I decided to try them out this week to let you know.

I can't tell a lie, I am not a patient nail varnish dryer so there may be a few starched but the color is so amazing!

They were Maybelline's line called Color Show. The colors go on super smooth and if you wait the allotted time, they would stay that actual smooth (whoops)!

The base color is called "Home Sweet Chrome" (amazing name by the way) and the sparkly top is called "Gleaming Graphite."

So Bam! There they are, you know I am a fan of dark nails and this was a wonderful change for my nail beds. They have to chip horribly after 5 days so I am a fan!

Stay Fab! See you Wednesday!

Dining in Battery Park

During my last trip to NYC with my family, we decided to venture down to Battery Park aka the place where you get on the ferry to visit the Statue of Liberty. We were starving so we walked into this building, truthfully looking for a bathroom, and we found an amazing restaurant.

The entrance was amazing. A bar that went straight down the center with picnic like tables on either side.

Pier A was the place we stumbled into and thank goodness we did!

We sat at a long table with high bar stools. The kitchen and bar was cleverly behind those amazing mirrors!

Ok this was a bit blurry but let's pretend I was trying to be artsy. During the spring and summer hours, there is seating available outside which looks out to the Statue of Liberty.

Personally, I ordered fish and chips. I was not disappointed. An amazing part of this place is that when your meal is ready, they bring it out to you. So it was hot and perfect!

My sister went for some sliders and not gonna lie, I grabbed a bite! So delicious!

Pier A even brews their own beer on site and you are able to look through the glass to see it all happen.

The character of the place was what made it for me, there was a certain sea charm.

From gauges on the walls to the ceiling, Pier A was an experience that anyone looking for a nice place to overlook the Statue of Liberty would be a wonderful choice!

Gotta love NYC visits!

Nail Varnish of the Week

I am the absolute worst when it comes to waiting for my nails to dry. I received this color in the summer when I received my internship in NYC (my mom thought NYC branded nail varnish was an important buy for me). So I thought I would give it a go and let you know what I thought about it.

Bam! NYC in a New York Minute nail varnish (feat the lovely Cosmo magazine and The Craft background).

Personally, I don't think it was that fast drying. I knew it wouldn't take only "a New York minute" to dry but they were still not ready to go after 15 minutes. But they were still faster than most nail varnishes I have tried out.

The color is in 236 Greenwich Village (see the NYC theme going). Personally, I'm not a huge pink wearing varnish but this color is nice.

Nice and smooth and quality color. Overall pretty happy with the varnish.

Stay NYC classy.

Nail Varnish of the Week: NYE Edition

Somehow I was given the chance to get my nails done so I hopped on and headed to the salon. I decided to go before I went out for New Year's Eve. Please ignore my chipped yellow nails from before!
Sparkle and New Year's Eve seems to go hand in hand so I used the liquid sand type of varnish!

After 3 coats this is what my nails looked like! Make sure you add a top coat so the sand feel will be a bit smoother!

It was the perfect color to go with my black dress with gold accents. I do have to say that because it has the texture, it does chip a lot faster. Within three days, the tips of my nails were no longer covered in the varnish. Its a great color to wear for the night!

Myself (on right) on New Year's Eve with my friends, Sara and Amy.

Stay amazing.

XOXO -M.S.
