Cropped Sweater and Jackets

Monday outfits mean new blog posts. This outfit was brought to you by this fabulous faux fur coat from Forever 21.
Posh Posing on my steps

During the winters, I love a good cropped sweater. "But those are pointless." No, throw on your high waisted jeans and step out on the town. Boots are forever and always from H&M. Let's talk about Platform booties real fast, 1) they are warm, 2) platforms make it easier to walk, and 3) they can actually go with any outfit and make you look like a total badass.

Forever obsessed with these shoes

Now you can go for a fab look or a tough gal look just by switching your jackets. Leather jackets will always be cool. Always. While mine may only be from Delias* because one time in 7th grade I said I was going to be badass and somehow it still fits. Now I'm on the lookout for a good leather jacket but until then, 7th grade Mavis will live on.

Always tweeting.

The simple flip of a jacket can change your whole mood and attitude. Grab your cropped sweater, booties, jeans and a jacket before heading out. Whether that be a faux fur jacket or faux leather one, rock it and own it.

Until next week!

XOXO

Glitter Brows: Tutorial

Glitter is basically my new obsession. Anything shiny. I am like a puppy who gets distracted by a slight glimpse of light. If you haven't already seen my video on how to do a decorated face, click here (or watch below).

See anything that shines must be on my face somehow. This week I decided to do a trend I have seen all over the runways.

Sadly, this look is mainly done with silver and gold. Not many decided to go wild and do a color. Since dying my hair blue, I have been drawn to do more looks with blue, so blue brows it was.

How To Do Glitter Brows:
Step 1: Find a shadow of the glitter you want to put on your brows. Apply that.
Step 2: Use an eyelash glue (or if your shadow is sticky that will do) and using a brush, place the glitter on the brows.
Step 3: Using a brow brush, comb through.
Step 4: Look sick as heck.

While this look may not be for everyone it is certainly fun and I couldn't stop smiling while wearing them.

It is the little things people that make the world just a tad less miserable. Now, personally I decided to rock a blue lip with the look but that is not by any means necessary. And if the colored brow isn't your thang, just stick with the gold or silver. Both are amazing colors for this wintertime.

So glitter isn't even the slightest of things you want to deal with because lets be real, I am still finding it all over my house; check out my tutorial on "Browscara" which is just colored brows (that stay).

Make up is meant to be fun and if looking cray is holding you back, realize this, everyone is more worried about themselves than you. Own your look and have a bit of fun.

Just a heads up, this get does a bit messy so make sure you do it over a sink or a towel for easy clean up!

Until next time!

XOXO

Turtlenecks and Exposed Knees

I've started wearing pants to bed so that tells you something when it comes to the weather. This week's outfit is brought to you by beanies, platforms and DIY jeans.

For the people who don't understand crop sweaters, I understand but high waisted pants. Okay just to get that in the clear.
Always scrolling on Insty

When jeans start looking old and need a new face, I cut them to pieces. This time around, huge squares over my knees. I can't link you to them because they are from Delias* from like 23190324 years ago.

It was so sunny during this photoshoot haha but here is my lovely H&M cropped white turtleneck (this ain't the real one I'm wearing but its type cute) which I wear with both black and jean high waisted pants. This real cute hat is from Garage.
Let's pretend I'm real good at this whole style blog thing.

Basically this outfit is perfect for that pretend autumn weather we all claim to have, the hat and ripped knees balance out your outfit when it comes to warmth.  So grab your beanie and cover your unwashed hair (cuz that's what I am doing)!

Until next time!

Nail Varnish of the Week (Frozen Edition)

Seeing as it is the holiday season, I decided to get in the spirit with some holiday type nails. I didn't feel like the classic red and green so I went for a more wintery look using blue and silver sparkles.

My ring finger was actually painted grey to keep the background a bit different and in the silver family.

Sometimes I spurge a bit and buy some Essie colors while there is a sale because lets be real. The colors are amazing and seem to hold up to their cost.

The grey color I used on my ring fingers was just a basic grey I picked up by Brucci.

The Essie color I used was "Rock The Boat" and the Brucci's Nail Hardener color used was "Alexandra's Hot Gray" and it is certainly hot.

The silver sparkle used mainly on my ring finger and scattered on my other digits was a simple Forever 21 color in "Glitterati."

Overall, I was quite happy with my nails and they lasted about the standard 5 days. The sparkles make any nail color chip faster. If you are looking for the perfect Frozen inspired nails, these are it!

Stay Fab!

Actual Warm Winter Fashion

Before you read this post! Watch my "Polar Vortex Fashion" video!

Ok perfect, thanks for watching it. Now for some actual winter fashion advice!

Shoes:
Snow boots! Or at least something with grips will help you from slipping and falling during these winter months.  As warm as Uggs are, they aren't meant for the snow (unless you have the heavy duty snow shoe ones). Personally, I rock a pair of white snow shoes from Payless.

Pants:
I am a huge fan of wearing tights or leggings UNDER your jeans. It adds another layer of warmth and if you wear tights with feet, it adds another pair of socks without the bulk!

Leggings:
There is a such thing as fleece lined leggings and if you live in a cold enough place, I highly suggest rocking a pair of these bad boys.  Places from H&M to Sports Authority sells them for the fashionista to the athlete who likes to workout in the snow.  I live and die by my pair of fleece lined leggings! Fashionable but warm.

Sweaters:
Wool is sometimes way too itchy even though it is one of the warmest fabrics.  Instead opt for an Under Armor like shirt that is meant to keep your body warmth in.  I am a huge fan of wearing a tank top under a plaid cotton shirt to stay warm before piling on another large sweater and a jacket.

Jackets:
As cute as a peacoat is, its not always the warmest coat around. Instead, go for a ski jacket or parka that is longer than your waist so when you go sledding (or just slip and fall on the sidewalk like me) your bum will be covered and the wind won't be able to freeze out your back!

Gloves:
I refuse to wear any other gloves than my tech savvy gloves that allow me to tweet and take pictures while I play in the snow.  They aren't always the warmest but in today's technology and image driven world, these are a life saver!

Hats:
Any hat that works for you is what you should rock but I am personally a fan of beanies and head wraps.  I just got a super cute headband from Nasty Gal and my ears have never felt warmer!

However you dress, be smart. Its better to be warm than stylish.  Most of the time people aren't judging your outfit but instead running to the next warmest spot on their journey to their destination. Stay warm out there!

XOXO -M.S.
