LULZ @ My First Day Faux Pas

Today I was lucky enough to start my internship with Sony Music, more specifically, RCA Records. It wouldn’t have been a successful “Mavis” day if I had not done a few weird things along the way. Let’s start at the beginning.

The moment I got off the bus, I walked to Sony, which is about 1.5 miles away but I had an hour and a half to kill so I wasn’t worried. After sitting awkwardly outside the doors, I figured I would try to go to the bathroom in the lobby. Too bad no one told me they were cleaning the bathrooms, so I walked in, slipped on the wet floor and fell into the trashcan. I know, smooth. The man was very nice and said he was sorry he didn’t put the sign up, not many people are hanging at Sony at 7 in the morning.

Somehow, I managed to not completely embarrass myself while signing in and filling out paperwork. So lets move on to when I was actually working. I really had to go to the bathroom so I decided to venture around and try and find it. Once I found it, I tried the door and couldn’t open it. I heard a noise inside so I assumed it was a one-stall bathroom. After standing there for about 10 minutes, I decided to head back to work. Finally, I could not hold it anymore so I went back to the bathroom hoping no one would be using it. No one was. And as I opened the door, I also discovered that it was a multi-stall bathroom with a nice sitting area. Now I know, the door just gets stuck some days.

My power walk back to the bus station was not my most proud walk I have ever taken. I need to catch a bus in 25 minutes and it takes about 30 minutes to get there. This girl learned that everyone who has somewhere to be walks in the bike lane on the street! So smart! Until you almost get run over by a bike and fall into a man with three pizzas in his hands. Luckily, he was able to save the food (and me!) so god bless his soul.

Other than those few mishaps, which are funny now that I look back on them, my day was amazing. Thank you to all who tweeted me and wished me luck! Sony is an amazing place and I really can’t wait to learn all I can from them! Until next time!

Coachellaroid

About a month ago, I was lucky enough to win a Festival Style contest to Coachella with Teen Vogue and Marc Jacobs. I took my polaroid camera with me and took a few piccys along the way. Here is Coachella in polaroid style.

Day 1:
Teen Vogue and Marc Jacobs set us up with lovely goodies and this wonderful letter.

Here is Amy with our Teen Vogue Mags and our goodie bags in our hotel room.

Rockin' our Marc By Marc Jacobs sunnies and scarves.

Dinner consisted of In-N-Out.

Munch, Munch.

We emptied our bags out after the first day and laughed at everything we carried through the festival.

Day 2:
From 12-6pm, we laughed, drank, ate and partied with some celebs at the Marc By Marc Jacobs Desert Gold Party at the Ace Hotel.

The Ace Hotel was basically made to look amazing in Polaroids.

Every time we tweeted #MBMJSunnies we received a free lemonade. Needless to say, I was tweeting up a storm in 95 degree weather!

There was even a Pop-Up Shop where you could buy the Sunnies on site!

Seriously, look at this pool. Ace Hotel = Polaroid Paradise.

We got to grab a funny pic in the photo booth as well!

Day Two's Outfit consisted of buns, dungarees, a crop top and flatform trainers.

An attempted selfie while waiting for Muse but it was too dark.

Around 3am, we decided to we needed to hop in the photo booth at the Ace Hotel and have a laugh.

Day 3:
10am at Coachella = Empty! So we grabbed a ride on the Ferris Wheel.

As a VIP, we got to eat at these yummy and fresh food carts!

Not a Selfie in the VIP area.

Coachella was absolutely amazing and the people I got to meet were even better. I just want to thank Teen Vogue and Marc Jacobs for allowing me this once in a life time experience!

XOXO -M.S.
