Retail Marketing | Parsons Coursework

Technology and fashion have and always will go hand in hand in book. The moment I saw these Digital Reality Models, I knew I had to snap a photo! It works because we take something such as always being connected to literally becoming connected. It is almost like a critique of ourselves but fashion forward.

Production Standards

Going shopping has always been difficult and as the "average size" American girl, its not so average to find clothing. These are three kinds of bottoms I tried on and ended up getting three different sizes all from the same store. Each bottom I brought in and tried on differed in size, feel and even length!

It was super fun to see how sizes don't make a person but how you feel in the clothes!

Production Costs | Parsons Course Work

In the last course, my idea was to use old iPods as hair accessories to incorporate technology, fashion and hair.

iPod Hair Clip #1
One old iPod Nano$25.00
Water Proof Seal (5oz)

Rubberized Base (11oz)
$10.00

$5.00
.5 hours @ $9$4.50
Total production cost$44.50
20% profit$8.90
Total cost plus profit$53.40
Estimated retail price$55.00
After talking over the product with my friends, we decided this would have to be boutique or high end product but that would allow for the higher prices on the original iPod.

iPod Hair Clip #2
Old iPod Nano (10-24 units)$68.00
Water Proof Seal (128oz)

Rubberized Base (128oz)
$48.49

$68.00
.5 hours @ $9$4.50
Total production cost$12.00
20% profit$1.20
Total cost plus profit$13.20
Estimated retail price$55.00
I learned that by buying in bulk, you can save a lot of money but still charge the higher price to continue to grow the brand.
